South Coast Highlights

This tour takes us through the south of Iceland where we see the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and Skógarfoss waterfall. We enjoy some of the south coast's sightseeing highlights such as Reynisfjara, the diamond beach with its black sand.


We drive to Seljalandsfoss where you can walk behind the cascades and experience the water from a different angle. We visit Skógarfoss waterfall, be prepared for some mist and spray. Then we head to Reynisfjara, the beautiful but dangerous black sand beach.   

Tour duration:  7 hours
Location: South Iceland
Departures:  At 08:00 am from Hamraborg bus station Kopavogur and 08:20 am from bus stop, Reykjavík city center. See Bus stop map in Reykjavik
What to bring: Warm outdoor clothes and good hiking boots/shoes.
Catering: Self-catered tour. Bring snacks and refreshments.
Return: To Reykjavik city center:  around 15:00 pm

All cancellations shall be emailed to . Most of the services offered on the website and/or the sites are fully refundable when cancelled up to 24 hours prior to departure under the cancellation policy. Refunds may take up to 14 business days.

  • Place of departure

Our day-tours all start from Hamraborg Bus Station and BSI Bus Terminal. Please arrive timely to the place of departure as stipulated in your voucher and/or booking confirmation.

  • Drop off

Drop off at the same locations as departures; BSI Bus Terminal and Hamraborg Bus Station.

  • Payments

All payments are either online or with cash on departure.   

  • Luggage

Please limit luggage items to a bag or a back-pack that fits under the bus seat. Insight Iceland does not take responsibility for damaged or lost luggage or any items belonging to passengers.

  • Customers with special needs

We welcome everyone but our tours are not suitable for wheelchairs or those with mobility disabilities.

  • Re-boarding after stops and rest breaks

Please make sure that you are back at the bus for reboarding after every stop. The tours run on a schedule and we kindly ask all our travelers to be mindful of the schedule so as not to be left behind. While we strive to keep everyone together and help each of our passengers in every way we can, we are unable to disrupt our tours for any length of time.  If you miss the bus, you will unfortunately have to find alternative transport arrangements at you own expense.

  • Safety on board the bus

The safety and comfort of the passengers is our main concern and we have safety belts for every passenger in the bus. According to Icelandic law it is mandatory to wear safety belts in all vehicles, passengers are therefore required to wear seat belts on our tours. We have booster seats for children over 8 years who might need them.

  • Clothing

Sturdy shoes, good hiking boots, and warm outdoor wear should be worn when travelling in Iceland during all seasons. Most tours include some walking and/or hiking in nature

  • Lost & found

If you lose clothes and/or other items in your possession during your trip with us, you can contact us by sending an e-mail to We will let you know if the item was found and if so we will send it to you at your expense, no responsibility is taken for lost items.

  • Responsibility

No responsibility is taken for losses and/or expenses due to delay or changes of flights, injury caused by accidental falling/tripping during hiking and sightseeing outside our buses, damages, negligence, weather, war and/or other unforeseeable causes.

  • Comments and/or complaints

We welcome all communication as we constantly strive to improve and make sure that our travelers enjoy our trips. Please feel free to contact us by e-mail  If you are not satisfied with our tour please let us know immediately so that we can assist you.  We also welcome all tips about things that can be improved.
